General information, not medical advice

Everything on this site is general information about food and nutrition. It is not medical advice, and it is not a diagnosis or treatment for any condition.

Who I am

I'm a nutritionist with a Diploma in Nutrition & Lifestyle Management. I'm not a medical doctor or a registered dietitian, and I don't diagnose conditions or prescribe medicines.

Food ratings, sample plans and calculators

The food ratings, sample diet plans and calculators are worked out from published data and standard formulas.

They can't know your health history, your medicines or your reports, so please don't use them to change any treatment on your own.

Sample diet plans

Sample diet plans are examples to show what a day of eating can look like. They are not your personal plan, and they are written for adults who are not pregnant or breastfeeding.

Talk to your doctor first

Talk to your doctor before making big changes to how you eat if you:

  • have diabetes, PCOS, a thyroid condition or kidney disease
  • are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • take any regular medicine

My plans are built to work alongside your doctor's care, never instead of it.

Under 18, or struggling with food

  • If you are under 18, please talk to a parent and your doctor before changing how you eat.
  • If you've been skipping meals to lose weight, making yourself sick, or you feel out of control around food, please talk to your doctor first.

In India you can also call Tele-MANAS, the government's free mental health helpline, on 14416.

Urgent symptoms

For chest pain, fainting, very high or very low sugar, or any other urgent symptom, contact a doctor or emergency services straight away, not WhatsApp.

Client results

Results described by clients on this site are their own experiences. Every body responds differently, and nobody can promise a particular result.

Where the numbers come from

Nutrition numbers come from the Indian Food Composition Tables 2017 published by the National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR).

  • Where a number wasn't measured, the site says so rather than guessing.
  • A few foods the Indian tables don't list, such as oats and curd, come from USDA FoodData Central, and their pages say so.
